Madeline Porta is an Operations Manager at The Bail Project.
Madeline returned home to Northwest Arkansas in January 2019 after practicing as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society in Queens, New York, for five years. While there, Madeline worked with the Bronx Freedom Fund to ensure their clients were able to work and live their lives, and to fight their cases from the outside. Madeline is thrilled to continue this work in Arkansas, where the number of people incarcerated pretrial has more than doubled since 1978.
Madeline graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a B.A. in Sociology, and earned a J.D. from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law.
