Katie Poor (she/her/hers) is a Supervising Attorney at The Bail Project.
Katie was most recently a capital defense attorney at the Mississippi Office of State Public Defender where she represented indigent clients across the state of Mississippi facing the death penalty. She was also a founding member of the Mississippi Bail Fund Collective, a coalition of social workers, attorneys, and activists working to address the injustices perpetrated by Mississippi’s money bail system. Before moving to the South, Katie spent four years as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York, and clerked for the late Honorable Robert P. Patterson, Jr., of the Southern District of New York. She received a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
Katie is admitted to practice in New York and Mississippi.
