Gwen Smith (she/her) is a Bail Disruptor in St. Louis, Missouri.
Before working at the Bail Project, Gwen was the Director of Programs at Criminal Justice Ministry, a St. Louis based agency that provides comprehensive reentry services and permanent supportive housing to justice-involved individuals. She has also worked as a researcher at Washington University, assisting in the development of evidence-based reentry programming, and at the University of Missouri- St. Louis, conducting historical research of carceral trends in Missouri. Gwen possesses a Master’s in Social Work from the Brown School and a BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. She currently sits on the St. Louis board of the Midwest Innocence Project as the Community Engagement co-chair and is an active member of the St. Louis Alliance for Reentry (STAR) Research subcommittee.
