Claire Mauksch (she/her/hers) is Assistant General Counsel at The Bail Project.
Claire joined The Bail Project after over four years as a public defender with The Bronx Defenders, where she represented thousands of clients on misdemeanor and felony cases. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a Public Interest Law Scholar and a member of the Criminal Defense and Prisoner Advocacy Clinic. While in law school, Claire taught legal writing to a group of men serving life sentences at Jessup Correctional Institution in Jessup, Maryland. Claire worked for two years as an investigator at Brooklyn Defender Services. She graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University.
Claire is admitted to practice in New York and Washington.
