A Year of Impact

The Bail Project is thrilled to announce the release of our 2024 Annual Report, a testament to the transformative power of The Bail Project community. This year’s report showcases the incredible strides we’ve made over the past year.

In the pages ahead, you’ll read stories of resilience and hope – the stories of our clients whose lives were directly impacted by our work. Thanks to the support and generosity of our community, The Bail Project has provided over 34,000 individuals with free bail assistance and pretrial support, reconnecting families, fostering stronger communities, and preventing over one million days of incarceration.

The Bail Project's Annual Report - Phase Two

Our Phase Two Strategy

We share more about phase two, where we will continue to ensure pretrial freedom while deepening our work in the advocacy space and launching pilot programs that model a world without cash bail. Our Community Release with Support model has provided voluntary supportive services to thousands of our clients. Because of our pretrial support, our clients have a 93% return to court rate.

Inside the Impact

You’ll get a glimpse into the daily efforts of our team on the ground as they provide unwavering support to our clients throughout their cases. From court appearances to community outreach, their dedication reflects our shared vision of justice and fairness.

The Bail Project's annual report for 2024The Power of Data

The Annual Report highlights how we’re using the data we’ve collected to prove a better pretrial system is possible. In 2024, The Bail Project focused on policy campaigns to advance pretrial justice and fight regressive efforts that would increase the use of cash bail and wealth-based detention.
