Yahniie Bridges is a Bail Disruptor in Los Angeles, California.

The majority of Yahniie’s childhood was spent residing in facilities governed by the child-welfare and juvenile justice systems in Los Angeles County. She has since worked in the last decade to organize communities around reforming systems with unjust policies and providing resource linkage to system-impacted individuals. She believes that by utilizing the information gathered along her trajectory, she can disrupt the status quo.

Yahniie sits on the Board of Directors for Insideout Writers and is an Advisory Board member for Better Youth and Creative Acts. She is a founding member of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC). She is certified by Western Justice Center in conflict resolution with an emphasis on mediation, restorative justice and non-violent communication. She has received a trauma-informed certification through the Department of Mental Health and Pacific Clinics. The Obama administration awarded her with the The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2016 for her commitment to the social and economic advancement of disenfranchised communities. She was recognized on the Senate floor for her social justice and arts education advocacy. In 2020, she worked as an Architect with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to establish the inaugural Youth Commission. She co-founded Creative Futures Collective, a social enterprise that supports small businesses and large corporations with talent acquisition and retention through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Yahniie is the mother of vibrant Nai’imah. Her personal pillars are intuition, mindfulness, empathy, authenticity and integrity. She loves art, self-care, going on adventures, movement-building, vision-boarding, quality-time with loved ones, fashion, travelling, music, almost every cuisine and nearly every single type of tea that exists.
