The Bail Project – Phoenix serves people incarcerated at the Maricopa County Jail in the Maricopa County Superior Court system.
Maricopa County’s jail system became nationally infamous after a former sheriff made its unrepentant cruelty his personal political brand. Out of all the places we work, Maricopa features some of the lowest bond amounts we’ve ever seen, starting at $50. This indicates the scale of need in this Arizona county, and we’re working with the Maricopa County Office of the Public Defender to identify potential clients and bring them back to their homes and communities.
